While vitamin D2 is a plant-derived form of vitamin D, vitamin D3 is found in animal-sourced foods and can be made in human skin upon exposure to sunlight and is also found in animal-sourced foods. Vitamin D3 can also be consumed through supplements. We choose vitamin D3 for our Centrum and Centrum Silver multivitamin products because it is the more potent form of vitamin D.
